Biome Bioplastics creates fully biodegradable tree shelters

After two years of successful lab testing of over 750 samples, Biome Bioplastics’ biodegradable tree shelters can now be inquired. The company has created a high-performing product that can be installed and protect trees in the same way as conventional plastic tree shelters.

However, Biome Bioplastics’ tree shelters fully biodegrade at the end of their useful life and leave behind no toxic residue in the soil. The company estimates that its tree shelters will prevent 2,500 tonnes of plastic from ending up in the natural environment in the UK annually.
