CZT and medical imaging
Cadmium zinc telluride (CZT also written as CdZnTe) is a room-temperature semiconductor radiation detector that has many uses in medical imaging, especially in single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). CZT camera solutions are used in positron emission tomography (PET) and x-ray radiography computed tomography (CT) as well as bone mineral densitometry (BMD, DEXA) and photon-counting spectral CT. We have developed a variety of CZT gamma detector components that can be used by medical equipment manufacturers to build devices using CZT as the imaging medium.
Kromek Group plc designs, develops and produces x-ray and gamma-ray imaging and radiation detection products for the medical, CBRNe security, Homeland Security and civil nuclear radiation detection markets.
