£5,000 home improvement voucher – how the Green Homes Grant works

The Chancellor has announced that homeowners will be able to claim vouchers of up to £5,000 for energy-saving home improvements, with the poorest getting up to £10,000.

As part of a £2 billion Green Homes Grant announced for England, eligible homeowners will be able to use the vouchers to pay for environmentally friendly improvements such as installing loft, floor and wall insulation or double-glazing.

The Treasury have said the grants could help to support more than 100,000 jobs and forms part of a wider £3 billion plan to cut emissions.
