WH Ireland thoughts on UKOG this morning

WH Ireland Analyst said this morning: “UKOG has announced results of flow testing operations in the second interval of the Horse Hill-1 (HH-1) oil discovery well located on the PEDL 137 licence (20.16% non-operated interest). The HH-1 well flowed 40 degree API light sweet oil naturally to surface, at a stabilised rate in excess of 900 bopd from a 88 foot aggregate zone located within the Upper Kimmeridge limestone interval, at a depth of c.840 meters (2,755 feet).

Flow testing operations of the Upper Kimmeridge began at c.1350 GMT yesterday, with a restricted flow of 700 bopd instantaneous rate recorded;  100% oil (no water contact) using a 1-inch choke and a rod pump. At c.1430 GMT the well began to flow naturally and the pump was turned off, which resulted in flow rates of over 900 bopd at 1500 GMT. Flow rates thereon stablished from 1500 GMT to c.1800 GMT with rates in excess of 900 bopd. The well was shut in to remove the pump rods, after which it was opened and natural flow recommenced at 2234 hrs to obtain a further stabilised flow rate and to collect reservoir engineering data. UKOG has stated that it will provide further updates on the flow rate when the data is available. Upon completion of flow testing of the Upper Kimmeridge limestone interval, operations will move to the Portland sandstone interval, located at a depth of 615 meters (2,020 feet).

Today’s news of robust flow rates from the second interval of the HH-1 discovery adds to the solid flow rates of the first interval (Lower Kimmeridge) announced c.2 weeks back, with a combined average stable rate of over 1,360 bopd. Further we note that the stabilised flow rates encountered in the Upper Kimmeridge at over 900 bopd is almost 2x of the Lower Kimmeridge, which flowed at a stabilised rate in excess of c.460 bopd (and a peak of over 700 bopd). We look forward to the results from the final interval of HH-1 with great interest.”
