Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Retail and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Taiheiyo Cement Corp. (TYO:5233), which rose 4.53% or 116.50 points to trade at 2,688.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (TYO:3863) added 4.33% or 53.00 points to end at 1,278.00 and Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (TYO:4568) was up 4.11% or 202.00 points to 5,111.00 in late trade.
