Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the shipping, insurance and mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Astellas Pharma Inc. (TYO:4503), which rose 10.05% or 200.00 points to trade at 2,191.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Nissui Corp (TYO:1332) added 7.61% or 54.10 points to end at 765.00 and Toray Industries, Inc. (TYO:3402) was up 5.68% or 43.40 points to 807.00 in late trade.
