European stocks closed higher Wednesday except for stock exchanges in Italy.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 0.18 point, or 0.04%, to close at 435.27.
The UK’s FTSE 100 was the best performer of the day, rising 24 points, or 0.33%, to finish the session at 7,414.
Germany’s DAX 30 added 12 points, or 0.08%, to reach 14,892. France’s CAC 40 gained 21 points, or 0.31%, to hit 6,915.
