Arbuthnot Commercial ABL supports Emerge Global’s investment in BritAm Shipping

Arbuthnot Commercial ABL (ACABL) has delivered a new £2 million facility to Emerge Global, increasing their facility limits to £8.25 million. This provides a flexible working capital platform to support the Group’s significant growth ambitions. Since September 2021, ACABL has backed five strategic investments for Emerge, leading to an eight-fold increase in turnover.

BritAm Shipping, based in Essex, is a freight forwarder and logistics provider offering sea and air freight services globally. Founded in 2010, BritAm began with refrigerated services from Latin America and containerised food imports from the USA. It expanded to include import services from the Far East and India and later added export and breakbulk/project services to Latin America. By 2020, the company had also started global export and import airfreight services.

Emerge Global identified BritAm Shipping as a valuable strategic addition to its Group. The company’s blend of traditional haulage and international freight forwarding complements Emerge’s existing operations, opening new sales channels and trade routes.

Mark Bigley, Director of Emerge Global, highlighted the long-standing partnership with Arbuthnot that began in 2021 with the investment in Berser International Cargo Services. He emphasised the mutual trust and honesty that have been key to their collaboration. He stated that Arbuthnot understands their strategic goals and has consistently supported their investments, including the latest in BritAm, which enhances their international freight, warehousing, and road distribution capabilities.

Andrew Rutherford, Commercial Director at Arbuthnot Commercial ABL, praised the strengthening relationship with Emerge’s management team. He attributed their successful partnership to trust and mutual support, a core principle in their business dealings.

The collaboration between Arbuthnot Commercial ABL and Emerge Global continues to drive substantial growth and strategic expansion, with the latest investment in BritAm Shipping marking another significant milestone in their journey.
