European markets open higher ahead of U.S. inflation report

European markets opened higher Tuesday as global investors await the latest U.S. inflation report.

The Stoxx 600 index shook off some of Monday’s negativity to trade 0.44% higher at the open. Sectors were mainly in the green, with oil and gas stocks up by nearly 1%.

The February reading of the consumer price index, which is set to be released on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ET, is being closely watched to see how it could inform the Federal Reserve’s interest rate trajectory.

Fidelity European Trust PLC (LON:FEV) aims to be the cornerstone long-term investment of choice for those seeking European exposure across market cycles.
