OptiBiotix Health PLC (LON:OPTI), a specialist in the development of functional ingredients to modulate the human microbiome, has entered into a manufacturing and supply agreement with Cereal Ingredients.
The agreement grants Cereal Ingredients a licence to manufacture and supply OptiBiotix’s award winning functional ingredient, SlimBiome, in its range of cereal based particulates in the US.
SlimBiome is a next generation functional weight management ingredient, which actively helps people to consistently manage their weight loss by reducing their food intake, without the usual food cravings.
OptiBiotix has been working with Cereal Ingredients to incorporate SlimBiome into its range of cereal and protein-based particulates and speciality ingredients.
This technical innovation extends the application of SlimBiome into bakery products, breakfast cereals, crackers, toppings, as well as increasing the range of options for healthy snacks, yoghurts and cereal bars.
This creates the opportunity to develop healthy functional products for the US cereal, snacks and sports nutrition market.
SlimBiome contains non-digestible prebiotic fibres, which increase microbial diversity. An increase in the diversity of microbes (microbiome) in the gut has been shown to help people lose weight more quickly and most importantly sustain this weight loss.1
