There are more than 46,000 newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer in the UK each year, according to Cancer Research UK.
And although 89% of cases are preventable, lung cancer accounts for roughly 36,000 deaths a year.
But there are some simple lifestyle changes that can help people avoid the potentially deadly disease.
The obvious one is to quit smoking – which is the best way to prevent lung cancer – but the NHS also recommends making some simple diet changes.
