Oil prices were climbing Monday as China opened its borders for travel for the first time in three years as part of its new policy on Covid-19.
Brent crude, the international standard, rose 2.9% to $80.83 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate, the U.S. benchmark, advanced 2.9% to $75.94 a barrel. Both contracts dropped more than 8% last week, the worst start to a year since 2016.
