My first car was a Vauxhall Corsa. It cost £3,800, it was a write-off when I bought it which I did not know and I sold it back to the garage I bought it from for £700 after nine months. My second and current car is a Ford Fiesta. It cost £2,000. My third car – and my first for review – is a 2018 grey Bentley continental GT. It cost £207,000 and, when it is delivered to my home in Cornwall, I can barely resist the temptation to drive past the garage that sold me the Vauxhall Corsa screaming, “Look at me now!” In fact, I don’t resist it. I do it many times. I think it is why I have become, in middle age, a petrolhead. It is revenge on the Vauxhall Corsa.
