United Cacao Ltd SEZC (LON:CHOC) Chief Executive Officer Dennis Melka caught up with DirectorsTalk to discuss the appointment of Graeme Brown to the Board
Q1: Dennis, just one question for you today, I see that an experienced plantation veteran Graeme Brown has joined the Board, can you give us some background there?
A1: Absolutely, we’re very excited that Graeme has joined us as an independent non-executive director. Graeme has tremendous experience in the plantation industry in South-East Asia on private companies and also public companies, Asian Plantations which he built up and sold and I actually was involved with him in that a few years back so we’re excited that he’s joined the Board. Really for United Cacao Ltd SEZC it’s about Asia, we wanted to have a full time director on the ground in Asia, Asia is driving these cacao markets, you’re seeing incredible growth coming out of there so we see it for us strategically important to have a director based out there so Graeme had an interest, we spoke to him about the project and he was excited to join in with us. So we’re also looking to make further enhancements in the Board going forward so I think it’s something where we have a great asset and we want to make sure we’ve got a superior great Board to compliment and guide the company forward so Graeme is the first step in that direction.
