CloudTag Inc (LON:CTAG) Chief Executive Officer Amit Ben-Haim caught up with DirectorsTalk for an exclusive interview to discuss the latest results from the Human Performance Unit at the Centre for Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Essex and what this means for CloudTag
Q1: This morning’s news, it must be very pleasing for CloudTag as you get closer to the launch. Can you tell us about the recent tests at the University of Essex?
A1: As I’ve mentioned before, we are very pleased to announce these latest results from the Human Performance Unit at the Centre for Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Essex. If I can just summarise those results in four bullet points:
• CloudTag has been conducting key external user tests, something that we have announced to the market in June on our proprietary sensors, electrodes and algorithms to validate their accuracy.
• The User Tests, the results of which we have published this morning, have shown very positive results with heart rate tracking between 98% and 99% in comparison to a clinical ECG machine which is our pedigree during walking and running activities
• The Energy expenditure, the kilocalories as we know everyone refers to as their goal, tracking results show correlation between 91% and 99% against the medical gold standard measurement, the CPX Metabolic Cart.
• I think those results are very heartening for us and confirm above all our belief that we can deliver clinical grade ECG results to the consumer market.
Q2: What does this mean for CloudTag?
A2: I believe that those results support the Company’s strategy of delivering highly accurate, relevant, medical grade technology to the consumer market. It also validates our in-house team’s work in collaboration with IMEC International, that puts us in a very strong position coming to the market with a product that we feel has the advantage over any marker player on accuracy, on relevant data for the consumer. On top of that, these results validate CloudTag’s proprietary miniature electrodes and algorithms, which enhance the sensor interoperability, delivering highly accurate metrics. I think as well, the results that we disclosed this morning combined with our personalised user experience through the app, enables us to provide a truly personalised journey for the user.
Q3: So what do you think are the next steps for CloudTag Inc?
A3: Well, as we’ve mentioned before, we are going to launch the product on 6th January 2016 and hence the whole team is very focussed on delivering a highly accurate wearable device to the market in January. We are further going to do more tests in the coming months with the new set of personalised machine learning algorithms, sensors and electrodes which will bring our recorded results towards a one to one to the gold standard. At the end of it, if I may mention, is that the share price will follow our news and this morning, the market had reacted positively to our news and more to come.
