Cancer symptoms: DON’T delay seeing a GP if you experience ’embarrassing’ symptoms

According to Bupa’s research, one in five UK adults (6.6 million people) who have experienced a potential cancer symptom have delayed seeking medical help due to being embarrassed about the symptom. More than 5.1 million Britons have avoided going to the doctor altogether, risking the disease going undiagnosed and untreated. In the study, vaginal bleeding was viewed as the most embarrassing symptom to discuss, followed by pain in the pelvis or groin. These were followed by blood or pain when urinating and bleeding from the bottom.
