AMTE Power, the Scottish developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells, has recently signed a contract with UK Battery Industrialization Center for manufacturing battery cells.
The company can now request UKBIC to manufacture up to 60,000 of its Ultra High Power cells each year, over an initial term of 24 months. It is a significant milestone as it will enable AMTE to deliver its first Ultra High Power cells at scale. This will help support the next phase of its commercialization plans.
AMTE Power’s manufacturing trials in August 2022 for the UHP cells produced on UKBIC’s commercial scale equipment showed good performance against the company’s target specifications.
AMTE Power plc (LON:AMTE) is a recognised brand in the production of high-quality lithium-ion batteries across a range of markets including automotive, aerospace, defence, oil & gas and energy storage.
