The chief executive of ASX-listed Doctor Care Anywhere says people in Britain face an average wait time of three to five weeks for an appointment to see a doctor in a clinic, as the COVID-19 pandemic heaps pressure on an already-struggling health system.
Dr Bayju Thakar said on Wednesday the serious bottlenecks for a physical appointment with a doctor were helping drive a structural shift to telemedicine which itself had faced extra difficulties in the June quarter because so many doctors were diverted to the mass vaccination effort across the UK.
As a doctor founded, patient-focused company, Doctor Care Anywhere plc (ASX:DOC) believe that happy doctors mean happy patients. It’s a virtuous circle and one that we’ve built a great team to help keep going.
