CyanConnode expands smart metering success with major follow-on orders in India

CyanConnode Holdings continues its momentum in India’s smart metering revolution, securing two substantial follow-on orders for 872,000 Omnimesh Modules through its subsidiary, CyanConnode India. Awarded by Montecarlo, a prominent infrastructure conglomerate and trusted partner, these latest orders reinforce the company’s strong market position and technological leadership.

The orders include Omnimesh Next-Gen In-Meter Gateways, a groundbreaking solution that integrates communication systems directly into smart meters. This innovation eliminates the need for externally mounted gateways, significantly streamlining installation and deployment.

This marks the third and fourth orders from Montecarlo, highlighting the enduring strength of the partnership. These deployments are aligned with the Indian government’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), a transformative initiative targeting the installation of 250 million smart meters nationwide. The RDSS aims to enhance billing accuracy, reduce power losses, and improve the reliability of India’s power infrastructure.

Deliveries are set to commence within the next six weeks. As of 31st January 2025, CyanConnode has shipped 3.6 million modules, with an order backlog of 10.4 million Omnimesh modules, further cementing its role in India’s smart metering ecosystem.

John Cronin, Executive Chairman of CyanConnode, expressed enthusiasm about the new orders, stating: “These significant follow-on orders from Montecarlo for smart metering projects in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur, Maharashtra, reflect the confidence in our cutting-edge technology. Our earlier deployments in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in Indore, set industry benchmarks and demonstrated a remarkable return on investment within just two and a half years.

“Repeat orders reaffirm the effectiveness of our standards-based technology and our deep-rooted expertise in India’s expanding smart metering landscape. With these new projects secured, our Omnimesh RF mesh network continues to strengthen the backbone of India’s smart metering infrastructure.

“We have built a strong working relationship with Montecarlo and are confident that this collaboration will continue to thrive, reinforcing CyanConnode’s leading position in the sector.”
