Edenville Energy PLC Coal wash plant ready for shipment to Tanzania

Edenville Energy plc (LON:EDL), have today provided an update on a key element of its Rukwa Coal Project in western Tanzania (the “Project”).

The Company is pleased to report that the coal wash plant, for use at its Rukwa coal operations, has been delivered to port in the UK, inspected and cleared by the appropriate authorities and is ready for shipment to Tanzania. Loading onto vessels is currently occurring. The first of the shipments is expected to leave the UK on 20 April 2017 and take approximately six weeks to arrive in Tanzania.

The cargo consists of 15 main containerised units which hold the Parnaby drum, screens, conveyors, control cabin and other associated pieces to complete the plant assembly.

The plant was fully inspected by an independent wash plant consultant for suitability and condition prior to purchase. A new spares package has also been purchased which will ensure critical area components such as pumps are readily available should the need arise.

Rufus Short, CEO of Edenville Energy PLC, commented: “I am very grateful for the hard work and professionalism from the team preparing the wash plant for shipment. They have been able to achieve this in approximately one month, meeting the target to move the containers to the port. After the wash plant leaves in April, the team will follow the shipments to Tanzania to supervise the construction and commissioning phases. The focus for this particular part of the Project now moves to preparations on site and I look forward to providing further updates on this as appropriate.”
