Edenville Energy plc (LON:EDL), the company developing a coal project in south west Tanzania, is pleased to provide a further update on the construction phase of the Company’s Rukwa Coal Project.
Upgrading of the newly constructed 16km mine haul road is now largely complete and it will be fully accessable for both construction and coal haulage trucks in the next week or so, having already provided more limited, but useful, access over the past month.
After a short delay, the unassembled wash plant is now scheduled to arrive on site during the second week of August, with construction commencing immediately upon arrival. The wash plant site area is already cleared and in the process of being prepared for the arrival and assembly of the wash plant. Work continues on the stage one pit area using the newly purchased Volvo excavator which arrived on site in July.
The Company is currently processing orders for coal and limited deliveries of raw coal are scheduled to be dispatched to customers from the second week of August. Following this the Company expects to be in a position to supply a full washed coal product once the wash plant is operating.
Rufus Short, CEO of Edenville Energy Plc, commented: “The team at Edenville along with our contractors have put in great effort to move the project forward to the stage where construction is now starting. The next several weeks will see intense activity on site to construct the plant and to also establish the mine as a fully operational facility. I would also like to acknowledge the support and cooperation from the local community who have helped us to get to this stage so rapidly. I look forward to updating the market on the progress of the wash plant construction and other operational advances in due course.”
