European stocks up as traders await U.S. inflation data

European stocks rose on Tuesday as global markets awaited U.S. inflation data later in the session, which could provide an indication of whether global interest rates start to fall.

At 0940 GMT, the MSCI World Equity index was up 0.1% at 668.26 (.MIWD00000PUS).

Asian stocks edged higher overnight, with the MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan (.MIAPJ0000PUS) on course for a second straight day of gains.
