Graduate trainee Chantel Maynard explains how she landed her exciting role at Cavendish Nuclear and why nuclear energy is so vital for our future
“I did maths, physics, economics and further maths at school, all the usual nerdy subjects,” says Chantel Maynard, 25, a graduate engineer at Cavendish Nuclear, the UK’s leading nuclear services company, which is owned by STEM Awards sponsor Babcock International.
“I never expected to be an engineer, though” she admits. “I enjoyed problem-solving and numbers but had no interest in engines or cars or anything like that and still don’t. I suppose I thought I would become an analyst or accountant.”
