Likewise Group is putting pedal to the metal with a major investment in its logistics capabilities. Hot on the heels of a key distribution hub acquisition, the flooring distributor is deploying a powerful new fleet strategy that speaks volumes about its ambitions and confidence in the UK market.
Likewise Group is on track to establish a delivery fleet of 159 vehicles by the end of 2025, a move designed to accelerate its national growth strategy. The first vehicle has already arrived at its Glasgow distribution centre, part of an initial order of 30. Simultaneously, an additional 14 new trucks have been ordered for group company Valley Wholesale Carpets, building on the ten delivered last year.
Chief Executive Tony Brewer emphasised the strategic thinking behind this bold investment, citing it as a strong signal of the company’s confidence in long-term expansion. In a shift in operational approach, the group has also committed to purchasing vehicles rather than leasing, enhancing cost efficiency and bolstering the company’s balance sheet.
This logistics investment follows closely behind the acquisition of a freehold logistics centre in Ivybridge, near Plymouth. This new South West hub extends Likewise Group’s logistics footprint to 15 million cubic feet and lays the foundation for a new regional division—Likewise South West. It also creates growth opportunities for Valley Wholesale Carpets across Devon and Cornwall.
The group continues to expand its reach under a portfolio of established brands, including Lewis Abbott, H&V Carpets, A&A Carpets, William Armes, Factory Flooring and Delta Carpets, all contributing to a robust and diversified market presence.
Likewise Group PLC (LON:LIKE) is a distributor of floorcoverings and matting and has the opportunity to consolidate the domestic and commercial floorcovering markets to become one of the UK’s largest distributors in this sector.
