Likewise Group has strengthened its position in the UK flooring distribution market with the acquisition of a freehold logistics centre near Plymouth for £1.2 million. This latest purchase increases the company’s logistics capacity to 15 million cubic feet and brings its total freehold portfolio value to £22.3 million.
The new Ivybridge hub, fully funded from internal cash reserves, will serve as the base for Likewise South West. This move will enable Valley Wholesale Carpets to expand its reach and build relationships with customers throughout Devon and Cornwall. By reinforcing its regional presence, Likewise is positioning itself for sustained growth in key markets.
Tony Brewer, CEO of Likewise Group plc, highlighted the significance of this investment, stating that it completes the company’s geographical coverage across the UK. The expansion also fortifies the company’s financial standing, ensuring stability and long-term growth. Brewer expressed confidence in the company’s future, citing strong momentum carried over from the second half of 2024 into early 2025.
Likewise has started 2025 on a positive trajectory, reporting an 8.4% increase in total sales revenue for January. Likewise-branded businesses have experienced even stronger growth, with a 13.6% rise. These figures indicate continued market demand and successful execution of the company’s strategic initiatives.
Looking ahead, Likewise has an ambitious agenda, with multiple product launches planned over the next six months. The company is also investing in sales and display stand activities to enhance its presence among independent flooring retailers and contractors. This proactive approach, combined with a robust logistics network, positions Likewise to capitalise on emerging opportunities within the UK flooring industry.
