Love Island star Tyla Carr is expecting her first child with boyfriend Ross – but it has not been plain sailing for the reality TV star.
Speaking candidly about her experiences as a first time mum-to-be, the pretty brunette posted an open and honest account on her Instagram page.
She then went on to reveal that she would be donating her umbilical cord. This is a process that sees both the cord and the placenta, which are both usually thrown away, donated to a public bank. The blood left in the umbilical cord and placenta will be collected and tested and stored at the public cord blood bank until needed by a patient.
“It is a chance to give back, help save a life or help research which it turn could save lives in the future,” she wrote alongside her explanation.
“Cords get thrown away daily, why not just fill out the form and donate it? At no expense… they do everything for you. The only job you have is letting them know when your going into labour.”
