One Health Group reports successful year with high patient satisfaction

Yorkshire-based One Health Group, a key independent provider of surgical services to the NHS, has delivered strong results in its latest annual Quality Accounts Report. Among its notable statistics, 98% of patients rated the overall quality of care as ‘Good to Excellent.’

The report, known as a Quality Account, is a yearly publication required by all NHS healthcare providers, including those in the independent sector. It offers an overview of the quality of services and is made publicly available. These reports are a vital tool for NHS services to showcase how they are improving the quality of care provided to local communities and stakeholders.

The quality of care provided is evaluated through various measures, such as patient safety, the effectiveness of treatments, and patient feedback. The Department of Health and Social Care mandates that finalised reports be submitted to the Secretary of State by June 30 each year.

One Health Group saw a rise in patient numbers by 11.5%, from 11,884 to 13,255 in 2023/2024 compared to the previous year. Waiting times for most procedures, including Gynaecology, Foot and Ankle, Hip, Hand & Wrist, Knee, and Shoulder & Elbow, averaged just four weeks. Spine procedures had a waiting time of five weeks, while General Surgery had the shortest waiting time at three weeks. The total number of procedures reached 6,174, and only 0.2% resulted in a hospital readmission.

Patient satisfaction remained high, with 86% of patients indicating they were ‘Extremely Likely’ to recommend One Health Group’s services to friends and family, an increase from 78% in the previous year. Further insights from the Patient Satisfaction Survey revealed that 99% of patients had a positive overall impression of their consultant, while 98% rated the quality of care as ‘Good to Excellent.’ Additionally, 99% felt their privacy and confidentiality were respected, and 98% expressed satisfaction with the responsiveness to their personal needs, a 6% improvement from the previous year.

Adam Binns, CEO of One Health Group, commented on the organisation’s long-standing commitment to providing NHS patients with high-quality, innovative care. He noted that the positive data from the latest report is a reflection of the team’s dedication and hard work. Binns highlighted the organisation’s role in assisting the NHS with the backlog of post-pandemic waiting lists, acknowledging the group’s significant contribution to supporting the NHS on both a local and broader scale during 2023/2024.

Looking ahead, Binns emphasised the company’s continued focus on aligning with NHS promotional campaigns, ensuring that NHS patients are informed about their right to choose One Health Group as their care provider. This, he believes, positions One Health Group as a key player in creating sustainable, high-quality services for NHS patients across the UK.

One Health Group’s latest report demonstrates a continued commitment to patient care and satisfaction, with growing patient numbers and impressive feedback underscoring its vital role in supporting NHS services.
