Union Jack Oil plc announced encouraging developments in the Taylor 1-16 well in Seminole County, Oklahoma. The well, drilled by operator Reach Oil and Gas Inc., has revealed a high-quality hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir, with two additional potential secondary intervals identified for future evaluation.
The Taylor 1-16 well reached a depth of 4,577 feet, with the primary target, the Hunton Limestone, encountered at 4,168 feet. The Hunton interval showed excellent hydrocarbon indicators, with high porosity and permeability. Production casing has been installed and cemented, and the rig has been released. Completion operations are scheduled to commence in early December 2024.
Further analysis will be carried out on two additional intervals, the Cromwell Sand and Misener Sand, both of which are known to produce effectively in the surrounding area. Executive Chairman David Bramhill expressed optimism, highlighting the reservoir quality and the hydrocarbon indicators encountered in the primary objective.
Union Jack Oil holds a 45% interest in the project, with the remaining stake owned by Reach Oil and Gas. Meanwhile, in Lincolnshire, Union Jack’s onshore UK site at Keddington is undergoing improvements, with production expected to resume by late 2024.
