Errawarra Resources received promising results from an extensive two-month reconnaissance exploration at the Pinderi Hills project. The exploration, which involved soil, stream sediment, and rock chip sampling, successfully identified a significant lithium footprint and uncovered valuable insights into other prospective areas for LCT pegmatites. A total of 1,153 samples were collected during the program, with Executive Chairman Thomas Reddicliffe expressing optimism about the findings. He highlighted the discovery of a focused lithium footprint, marked by a cluster of anomalous lithium soil trends, which may indicate near-surface or poorly exposed lithium-bearing pegmatites. These results will guide the next phase of exploration, which is currently being planned to further investigate these targets.
The Pinderi Hills Joint Venture (JV) between Alien Metals Ltd and Errawarra Resources, previously reported in April 2024, focuses on an area within the Munni Munni Mafic Complex, known for its potential in PGE’s, nickel, and copper. Errawarra holds the first right to acquire additional mineral rights within the JV tenements. The reconnaissance sampling at Pinderi Hills involved 926 soil samples, 190 stream sediment samples, and 37 rock chip samples. The soil samples were collected in a 6 km² area across specific tenements and revealed several linear anomalous Li2O trends, which suggest the presence of lithium-bearing pegmatites. Although initial ground investigations have yet to identify the source of these anomalies, a pegmatite rock chip sample within the anomalous zone reported 73 ppm Li2O, further supporting the potential for lithium in the area. Stream sediment samples in this region also showed anomalous Li2O values, reinforcing the prospectivity of the area.
Additionally, three stream sediment samples near the Maitland Mafic Intrusion, located 10 km northeast of the Munni Munni lithium anomaly, reported Li2O values exceeding 50 ppm. These anomalous results warrant further investigation through additional stream sediment or soil sampling. A rock chip sample taken 6 km east of the Munni Munni lithium anomaly reported 288 ppm Li2O, along with elevated Cs, Ta, and Nb levels, characteristic of LCT pegmatites. This anomalous rock chip sample will be prioritised in follow-up investigations.
The first pass sampling program covered the entire 175 km² tenement package and yielded encouraging results, confirming the lithium potential of the JV tenements. Upcoming work will focus on further exploring the larger Munni Munni lithium soil trends, investigating the Maitland anomalous lithium stream anomaly, and following up on the isolated anomalous lithium pegmatite sample.
Alien Metals Ltd (LON:UFO) is a global minerals exploration and development company that will shortly make the transition to iron ore producer. The company was formed from Arian Silver in late 2018, retaining some of the companies more valuable Mexican projects before embarking on an acquisition led strategy, headed up by an excellent geological team and targeted entirely on Western Australia.
