Tirupati Graphite’s strategic expansion in critical minerals

Tirupati Graphite is positioning itself as a key player in the global energy transition by expanding its production of high-quality flake graphite—a vital component in renewable energy technologies and electric vehicles.

As a specialist graphite producer, Tirupati Graphite operates fully permitted projects in Madagascar, including the Vatomina and Sahamamy mines, which collectively have an installed capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of flake graphite. The company is actively enhancing this capacity to 84,000 TPA in stages, aiming to meet the increasing global demand for this critical mineral.

In addition to its Madagascan operations, Tirupati holds two advanced-stage natural graphite projects in Mozambique: the Montepuez and Balama Central projects. These projects are fully permitted to produce a combined 158,000 TPA of flake graphite, positioning the company to capture a significant share of the market.

The company’s strategic vision includes capturing approximately 8% of the global flake graphite demand by 2030, which is estimated to require a production capacity of 400,000 TPA. This ambitious goal reflects Tirupati’s commitment to scaling its operations in response to the burgeoning needs of the energy storage and electric vehicle sectors.

Tirupati Graphite’s experienced leadership team, with over 150 years of collective expertise in mining, processing, and technological development, is dedicated to advancing the company’s growth trajectory. Recent appointments, such as Interim Chief Financial Officer Peter Thomas, underscore the company’s focus on strengthening its financial management and operational efficiency.

Financially, as of July 31, 2024, Tirupati Graphite reported a market capitalization of $10.4 million, with a share price of $0.08. The company achieved a trailing twelve-month revenue of $17.9 million, reflecting its operational progress and market engagement.

In summary, Tirupati Graphite is a UK-based specialist graphite producer supplying critical minerals essential for a decarbonized economy and the global energy transition. With operations in Madagascar and advanced projects in Mozambique, the company is committed to sustainable practices and aims to become a leading supplier in high-growth markets such as renewable energy and electric vehicles.
