U.K. shares higher at close of trade

U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food Producers, Industrial Engineering and Industrial Transportation sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.16%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which rose 3.93% or 27.80 points to trade at 735.60 at the close. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON:0593xq) added 2.99% or 37.50 points to end at 1,292.50 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICP) was up 2.62% or 33.50 points to 1,311.00 in late trade.
