Union Jack Oil reports successful drilling at Taylor 1-16 well

Union Jack Oil, an onshore hydrocarbon exploration and production company, has shared a positive update regarding its Taylor 1-16 well in Seminole County, Oklahoma, where the company holds a 45% working interest. The well, drilled to a depth of 4,577ft, reached its primary target, the Hunton Limestone interval, at 4,168ft. This interval has been identified as hydrocarbon-bearing, with promising high porosity and permeability.

Following the completion of drilling, production casing has been installed and cemented, with the drilling rig now released. The operator, Reach Oil and Gas Company, is preparing to commence the well’s completion programme, scheduled for early December 2024.

In addition to the Hunton Limestone, two other potential hydrocarbon-bearing intervals, the Cromwell Sand and Misener Sand, were noted. These will be evaluated further at a later stage to assess their potential for production. Union Jack’s executive chairman, David Bramhill, expressed optimism about the findings, particularly in relation to the Hunton interval, which was the main objective of the drilling.

Union Jack Oil plc (LON:UJO) is an oil and gas company with a focus on onshore production, development, exploration and investment opportunities within the United Kingdom and the United States of America hydrocarbon sector.
