The Environment Agency has backed down from its objections to the first phase of the £650m Island Quarter site – paving the way for construction to begin and – TheBusinessDesk.com understands – a planning application for the larger Phase 1b section of the Nottingham development.
Conygar had warned that it the first phase of the Island Quarter was delayed it could set the entire scheme back by a year. However, that no longer appears to be the case.
The overall plans for the 40-acre site will bring new homes, grade A office space, creative spaces, a hotel with PRS and co-working space, a ‘linear’ park and vibrant community and event space as well as student accommodation to the city.
Conygar Investment Company PLC (LON:CIC) is an AIM quoted property investment and development group dealing primarily in UK property.
