Touchstone Exploration Inc., a Canadian energy company, has started initial production from its Cascadura C well pad located onshore in Trinidad. The company has successfully set up a flowline to link the Cascadura C site to its natural gas processing plant, which also serves the Cascadura-2ST1 and Cascadura-3ST1 wells. To accommodate increased output, a new natural gas separator was installed, enhancing the plant’s capacity to handle approximately 140 million cubic feet of gas per day.
Currently, Touchstone is testing the production capacity of the Cascadura-2ST1 well, with plans to move to the Cascadura-3ST1 well next. These tests involve isochronal procedures, where the company runs each well at different choke sizes to measure flow rates and pressures. Following each test, there is a pressure build-up period to evaluate reservoir performance. All gas produced during testing will be processed and sold. This testing phase is projected to conclude within two weeks, after which both wells are expected to begin steady production. At that point, Touchstone plans to release detailed flow rate information.
Paul R. Baay, President and CEO of Touchstone, expressed enthusiasm over the production start at Cascadura C. He highlighted this achievement as a crucial step in generating revenue from these wells and stated that Touchstone will focus on setting optimal production levels for maximum recovery. Situated at the edge of the company’s reserves, these wells are part of a strategy to potentially expand Touchstone’s reserves across the broader Cascadura field. The newly installed flowline and plant enhancements mark significant infrastructure developments in the area, which should help streamline future drilling and production timelines.
This initial production from Cascadura C is a key development for Touchstone, enabling increased capacity and infrastructure in Trinidad while positioning the company to optimise and expand its reserves.
