Analog Devices Inc., which has two chip factories in the Portland area, says it’s increasing production at both of them and adding staff in response to soaring demand.
The Massachusetts-based company makes chips for industrial, automotive, communications and consumer products. ADI’s technology isn’t the most advanced, but it’s been in huge demand amid a chip shortage that has stymied production of everything from automobiles to video game consoles.
ADI’s revenue jumped more than 30% last year, to $7.3 billion. So like many other chipmakers, it’s boosting output to meet the enormous demand.
