ATR is securing the future of regional aviation by investing in pilot training. In collaboration with AéroPyrénées, a leading pilot training institution, ATR has signed a memorandum of understanding to attract and train the pilots of tomorrow. This strategic partnership underscores ATR’s commitment not only to manufacturing world-class aircraft but also to cultivating skilled professionals who will sustain and grow the industry.
Commencing in 2025, this initiative will introduce a range of innovative learning experiences for AéroPyrénées’ students. Leveraging ATR’s industry expertise, the programme will feature workshops and conferences led by ATR specialists, offering insights into the specifics of ATR aircraft, their global missions, and the promising career pathways in regional aviation.
As part of this collaboration, students will gain exclusive access to ATR’s state-of-the-art Training Centre in Toulouse. Here, they will engage with cutting-edge flight simulators and advanced educational tools designed to enhance their technical knowledge and operational proficiency. The training will cover essential topics, from aircraft system awareness to Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Type Rating courses, equipping pilots with the expertise needed to operate ATR aircraft upon completion of their Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating on Multi-Engine aircraft (CPL-IR/ME).
“This partnership between ATR and AéroPyrénées is built on common values such as a passion for aviation and the pursuit of excellence. It combines our educational and technical expertise to train the pilots that our operators will require in the years ahead. Promoting ATR and its significance in the aviation landscape will guide the choices of future pilots and establish connections with ATR operators,” stated Christian Commissaire, Head of the ATR Training Centre.
This collaboration is a significant step towards ensuring a steady pipeline of highly skilled pilots equipped to meet the growing demands of regional aviation. ATR’s investment in training and education strengthens its leadership in the sector while fostering the next generation of aviation professionals.
