The online giant has announced their introduction into the world of sustainable fashion with four t-shirts that are made from 100% recycled materials.
The global online retailer is known for providing ‘cheap’ fast fashion clothing pieces, which are generally worn several times and then thrown away. This range of t-shirts is boohoo’s first steps towards offering customers a sustainable option.
The collection is made up of a cotton and polyester mix, created using salvaged waste cuttings from organic cotton which is then shredded and blended with recycled plastic bottles to create a soft cotton yarn. The fabric has been used to create t-shirts in black and white, or printed with the slogan ‘Official/Repeat’. The t-shirt labels and packaging are also made from recyclable materials.
Boohoo Group PLC (LON:BOO) operates as an online fashion retailer in the United Kingdom, rest of Europe, the United States, and internationally. The company also provides its products under the boohoo, boohooMAN, PrettyLittleThing, and Nasty Gal brand names.
