Dashboard and Screens
Today’s cars, including popular EVs, depend on driver-cluster screens and center-dashboard touchscreens. These new screens are generally encased in glass or high-grade plastic coverings, and can be easily ruined if you don’t use the proper cleaning agents. For these screens, consult your vehicle owner’s manual for recommended products and cleaning procedures. Often, a simple microfiber cloth, like the ones used to clean eyeglasses, can remove finger smudges from touchscreens with ease.
If your dashboard is made of leather, then use the same products as for cleaning leather seats. Real wood dashboard and door trim require the proper cleaners and conditioners, as well. You can quickly ruin untreated “open pore” wood now popular in many high-end cars and SUVs. A clean, slightly damp microfiber towel will effectively clean dust from wood surfaces.
Use a damp clean microfiber towel to safely clean painted and metal interior dash trim, as well.
