CyanConnode and Silicon Labs take on India’s smart metering challenge

The adoption of smart electricity metering is happening fast in India, driven in large part by widespread power theft and inefficiencies in the country’s energy infrastructure. According to some studies, as much as 20 percent of the electricity generated in India is stolen. That’s a huge problem in a country with 250 million electricity meters.

Wi-SUN Alliance member CyanConnode has been supporting India’s smart metering market for a decade. Silicon Labs’ FG25 sub-GHz wireless SOC helps CyanConnode focus more on its core mesh RF utility platform and less on complex and time-consuming radio design.

The result is a solution with advanced security, mesh networking, and routing capabilities ready to address the needs of India’s grid.

CyanConnode Holdings plc (LON:CYAN) is a world leader in the design and development of Narrowband RF mesh networks that enable Omni Internet of Things (IoT) communications.
