DG Innovate and EVage Motors form JV to revolutionise Electric Mobility in India

UK-based research and development company DG Innovate (DGI) has made a significant move into the Indian market through a joint venture with EVage Motors. The collaboration aims to develop advanced solutions for sustainable mobility and energy storage. DGI stated that this partnership provides a faster, cost-effective pathway to manufacturing in India. Moreover, they plan to develop the world’s most efficient electric motor, targeting an impressive 98.5% efficiency.

Under the agreement, DGI will collaborate with EVage to manufacture its proprietary Pareta electric drive system in Punjab. The joint venture will focus on the Asian electric vehicle (EV) market, specifically offering electric trucks. Ownership of the joint venture will be divided, with DGI holding a 60% stake and EVage owning the remaining 40%.

Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen, CEO of DGI, highlighted the strategic importance of the Asian market for the EV industry, particularly noting India’s robust manufacturing capabilities. “Asia is a critical market for the EV industry, and India in particular benefits from a leading manufacturing platform that will allow us to deploy our products at top speed and competitive costs,” Bardenfleth-Hansen remarked.

Adding to their team’s expertise, DGI has appointed Pierre Pellerey as a consultant. Pellerey, who has over 15 years of experience in motor design, has significantly contributed to the development of Tesla’s Model 3, Model Y, and Model S Plaid, as well as Dyson’s flagship V10 motor. DGI commented on Pellerey’s appointment, noting, “Pierre’s motor designs power over 3 million electric vehicles to date, and his contribution will be key to driving the JV forward.”

Together, DGI and EVage are committed to manufacturing the world’s most efficient motor, leveraging EVage’s Modular Miniature Manufacturing (Mcube) micro-factory technology. This innovative approach promises to set new standards in the EV industry, reinforcing the companies’ commitment to sustainable and efficient mobility solutions.
