EVage’s innovative battery technology has made significant strides in the electric vehicle industry, with the ability to fully charge in 20 minutes and a lifespan that stretches up to 12 years. When combined with DG Innovate’s advanced motor, this technology allows EVage trucks to charge swiftly while maintaining peak efficiency.
Based in Chandigarh, EVage is carving out its place in the Indian electric vehicle market through a vertically integrated approach. The company has entered into a strategic collaboration with DG Innovate, a UK-based motor manufacturer founded by a former Tesla executive, Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen. This partnership aims to create one of the world’s most efficient electric motors, reaching an impressive efficiency level of 98.5%.
Inderveer Singh, the founder and CEO of EVage, describes the partnership as more than just motor production; it is about leading a global shift in electric vehicle adoption, starting from India. Singh envisions that their integrated technology and scalable production capabilities will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the global market.
Central to EVage’s innovation is its unique electric vehicle technology stack, which significantly reduces the usual production costs, space, and workforce requirements. Singh points out that the company’s ability to control all aspects of their technology stack—including their proprietary battery, Battery Management System (BMS), Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and infotainment system—enables them to produce an electric truck every 15 minutes.
Their battery technology not only charges in 20 minutes but is also designed for long-term reliability, with a lifespan of up to 12 years. When paired with the highly efficient motor from DG Innovate, EVage’s trucks are both quick to recharge and exceptionally efficient in performance. Singh notes that their motor has a 98.5% efficiency rate, surpassing Tesla’s motors, which sit at approximately 96%. This advantage makes EVage’s trucks an appealing option for logistics operators focused on minimising downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.
In addition to technological advancements, EVage has also reimagined production methods. Their micro-factory model, integrated with Industry 5.0 technologies, currently produces around 2,000 vehicles annually. With the addition of DG Innovate’s new motor technology, EVage expects a significant boost in production to cater to the growing demand for efficient electric trucks across Asia.
This collaboration is part of a broader vision to position India as a global leader in electric vehicle manufacturing. Singh believes that their work is about more than just producing electric trucks; it is about helping India become a central figure in the worldwide shift towards sustainable transportation and electric vehicle exports.
Looking ahead, EVage plans to expand across the top 100 cities in India while exploring opportunities for international exports. Their partnership with DG Innovate, known for cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies, underscores EVage’s commitment to advancing its technology and establishing itself as a prominent force in the evolving global electric vehicle market.
EVage is leveraging breakthrough battery technology and strategic partnerships to lead the charge in electric truck manufacturing. Their combined focus on rapid charging, efficiency, and scalable production has the potential to transform the logistics industry and position India as a significant player in the electric vehicle space globally.
