How the Humber can play a key role in decarbonising the UK economy and create jobs

The Humber region is set to play a key role in the decarbonisation of the UK economy, energy management bosses have claimed.

The head of the px Group, which runs Saltend Chemical Park in the region, said that its facility was primed to create many jobs both directly and indirectly as the UK pivots towards being zero net carbon.

The Humber region is one of the most polluting regions in the country but has recently begun to attract investment from the likes of Siemens with its wind turbine manufacturing site and more recently with the announcement that the first rare earth processing facility in Europe is planned for the chemical park.

Pensana plc (LON:PRE) explores and mines neodymium, praseodymium, and rare earth minerals. The company is looking to establish the world’s first fully sustainable magnet metal rare earth oxide producer at the Saltend Chemicals Park in the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership Yorkshire, UK.
