Aberdeen Minerals is one of several companies hunting for mineral treasure across the UK, as demand explodes for the raw materials that will go into the legions of wind turbines, electric cars and batteries needed for the switch to net zero.
Efforts are already under way to construct new mineral refineries in the US, while in the UK companies including Pensana are seeking to build rare earth processing hubs that can make magnets used in wind turbines and electric car motors.
