Natural Graphite in its mineral form is available in many countries and each location has its own local geology, graphite structure, impurities hence no generalized processing template should be applied without a detailed study of the mineral deposit. The external factors such as location and logistics, could impact the selection of processes to be applied for best value.
For the conventional markets, the mineral processers who do not get large or very large flake sizing from their upgrading facilities are at a disadvantage. The flake size in the mineral is a gift of nature and thus most miners and processors push for higher carbon contents, it is one important parameter they can control by putting the mineral through a longer process of ball mills and flotations cells to achieve higher Fixed Carbon content for the end products.
Apparently, this longer process further reduces the flake size in the upgraded mineral resulting in finer end products.
Tirupati Graphite PLC (LON:TGR) is a fully integrated specialist graphite and graphene producer, with operations in Madagascar and India. The Company is delivering on this strategy by being fully integrated from mine to graphene. Its global multi-location operations include primary mining and processing in Madagascar, hi-tech graphite processing in India to produce specialty graphite, and a state-of-art graphene and technology R&D center to be established in India.
