Daphne’s, operated by Elegant Hotels Group, has appointed Kirk Ruck as Executive Chef. A gastronomy venue loved by locals, travellers and celebrities including Rihanna, Daphne’s boasts 18 years of culinary history and a picturesque Platinum West Coast oceanfront vista.
Chef Ruck’s 21-year Barbadian career has seen him work at some of the island’s most respected venues including Hugos, The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Lone Star, as well as Josef’s and Bellini’s. Chef Ruck started his career under award-winning Chef John Hazzard at the Bougainvillea Beach Hotel where he gained the expertise to become an award-winning chef in his own right.
“My passion for Bajan ingredients and cooking started at a young age with my grandmother passing down her know-how and recipes. I am excited to take these core Bajan cooking techniques and add my twist to Daphne’s Italian and Bajan fusion menu. The restaurant is an iconic culinary institution on the island, and I will continue to develop Daphne’s unique style by bringing locally-sourced ingredients to reimagine the menu for diners.
