Altilium Metals and Tees Valley Lithium sign deal to tap EV scrap and recycled batteries to deliver more sustainable and robust supply chain.
TVL’s processing hub at the Wilton International Chemicals Park is close to Altilium Metals’ planned battery recycling facility. It will have capacity to process scrap from over 150,000 electric vehicles per year. TVL’s owner, Alkemy Capital Investments, said the deal makes the plant one of the largest in Europe and the only one of its kind in the UK.
Alkemy Capital Investments plc (LON:ALK, FRA: JV2) is focussed on developing projects in the energy transition metals sector. Alkemy’s wholly-owned subsidiary Tees Valley Lithium (TVL) is developing a state of the art lithium hydroxide plant at Teesside, UK. TVL is Europe’s largest independent and sustainable lithium hydroxide producer.
