Tirupati Graphite, listed on the London Stock Exchange, has announced a significant reshuffling of its board. This move includes the appointment of Christian St John-Dennis, Murat Dogan Erden, and Anthony James Nieuwenhuys as nonexecutive directors. The company believes that these changes will improve its corporate governance and enhance leadership, positioning it for further success.
Nieuwenhuys brings valuable board-level and executive experience from his time with various listed mining companies. He is also the CEO and a director at TSX-listed Zeb Nickel Corporation. Erden, with extensive experience in debt, capital markets, and financial strategy, currently serves as a director at Arch Emerging Markets Partners. He was previously a nonexecutive director at Tirupati from October 2023 to March 2024. St John-Dennis, a respected corporate broker and the CEO of Optiva Securities, has also served as a nonexecutive director at Tirupati from April 2017 to July 2023.
In addition, Puruvi Poddar has stepped down from her position as a director but will remain with the company in the role of Chief of Corporate and Business Development. In this new capacity, she will focus on driving the company’s strategic and commercial goals forward. Tirupati is continuing its search for potential CFO candidates and independent nonexecutive directors.
Once the board restructuring is completed, Tirupati plans to move forward with a fundraising initiative to support the expansion of its graphite projects in Madagascar.
