Tirupati Graphite, a UK-based company, has announced the appointment of Michael David Lynch-Bell as its new non-executive chairperson. Lynch-Bell brings a wealth of experience from his 38-year career at consultancy firm Ernst & Young, where he led the global oil and gas advisory practices.
In addition to his new role at Tirupati, Lynch-Bell serves as a non-executive director and chairperson of Serabi Gold, which is listed on Aim and TSX, nonexecutive chairperson of Little Green Pharma, listed on ASX, and nonexecutive director of London-listed Gem Diamonds.
Tirupati highlights that Lynch-Bell’s appointment aligns with the company’s commitment to enhancing corporate governance by bringing on board high-calibre, experienced, and independent directors. In his new role, Lynch-Bell will be closely involved in efforts to bolster corporate governance, including overseeing the recruitment of additional independent directors.
The appointment is subject to the current board remaining in place following a general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 11. Lynch-Bell expressed confidence in Tirupati’s strong investment case, emphasising the long-term and growing demand for graphite. He acknowledged the challenging market for financing but remains optimistic about the company’s ability to navigate these challenges with the appropriate governance framework.
Tirupati currently operates two graphite production projects in Madagascar.
