Unlocking the rare earth elements (REEs) for today’s technology
This talk by a represntative of UK company Pensana will explain what REEs are, what they are used for and how they are recovered after mining. REEs have numerous applications with Pensana focussing on their recovery for high-powered magnets for electric vehicles. Whilst of national strategic importance, it is particularly relevant to East Yorkshire as Pensana is planning to process the ore obtained abroad at the Saltend Chemical Plant.
