Unlocking Zambia’s copper treasure with a $125 million head start

Arc Minerals is poised to become a major player in Africa’s copper boom, with a game-changing joint venture already valuing its Zambian assets at $125 million—even before full-scale drilling has begun.

Arc Minerals has secured one of the most compelling copper exploration partnerships in recent years. Through a transformative joint venture with Anglo American, Arc has positioned itself at the heart of Zambia’s mineral-rich Western Domes region, unlocking access to up to $88.5 million in investment and immediate validation of its assets via a $14.5 million cash component. This agreement substantially de-risks Arc’s exploration roadmap and underscores the project’s quality, especially when compared to similar deals such as KoBold’s, which offered far less upfront commitment.

Recent drill results from the Cheyeza East target have confirmed extensive copper mineralisation, with grades of up to 1.72% Cu over meaningful intercepts. Meanwhile, the deeper Nkwazhi holes revealed further sulphide mineralisation—strong evidence of the system’s scale and potential. These results build on over 22,000 metres of prior drilling and comprehensive soil sampling across Arc’s licences, which span 864km² in one of the world’s most prolific copper belts. Situated near Tier-1 mines like Sentinel, Lumwana and Kansanshi, Arc’s licences already contain nine of Anglo American’s top thirty historic targets in Zambia.

Beyond Zambia, Arc is also advancing its position in Botswana’s Kalahari Copper Belt, where its 75%-owned Virgo Project sits adjacent to Khoemacau—a $1.9 billion acquisition by MMG. Early drilling has revealed promising mineralisation at the Mowana Fold and Zone 9 prospects, strategically located near MMG’s expansion zones. The geological similarities to MMG’s key assets further enhance Arc’s potential to benefit from regional consolidation or infrastructure synergies.

With a leadership team drawn from Anglo American, De Beers, Deutsche Bank, and successful African private equity ventures, Arc is led by proven operators with deep sector expertise and financial acumen. Their hands-on commitment is reinforced by significant insider ownership, aligning management closely with shareholder interests.

ARC Minerals Ltd (LON:ARCM) is a dynamic exploration and prospect generation company, forging partnerships with major mining companies, in its quest to discover and develop Tier 1 copper deposits.
